The Board of Review will meet on the 2nd day of June, 2020 at 7 p.m. at Star Prairie Town Hall, 2118 Cook Drive, Somerset WI. for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the 45 day period beginning on the 4th Monday of April, pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 70.47(1).
Due to the current public health crisis related to COVID-19, it is anticipated that the Board of Review will be adjourned until the 23rd day of July, 2020 at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All Road Weight for the Town of Star Prairie will be lifted on Friday, April 24th, by Order of the St. Croix County Highway Department and the Star Prairie Town Board.

Spring Primary – February 18, 2020.
Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary – April 7, 2020.
Congressional District 7 Election – May 12, 2020
Partisan Primary – August 11, 2020.
General and Presidential Election – November 3, 2020.
NOTICE TO TOWN OF STAR PRAIRIE RESIDENTS
Town residents may submit a written or electronic request to the Town Clerk to be placed on a list of residents who will be notified of any ordinance amending the Town’s Comprehensive Plan which may affect the allowable use of any such residents’ property(ies) within the Town. The notice will be provided to any resident making such request at least thirty (30) days prior to the public hearing to take comments on any such ordinance amending the Town Comprehensive Plan.

The request may specify whether the resident would like to receive notice by regular mail or electronic mail. It is the resident’s responsibility to provide an accurate and current address at which to receive such notice and to notify the Town Clerk/Treasurer of any change to the address provided. Residents requesting notice by first class mail may be charged the reasonable cost incurred by the Town to provide the notice by that means.
VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You must include a copy of an acceptable form of Photo ID. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.
THE DEADLINE FOR MAKING APPLICATION TO RECEIVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL IS 5:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, February 13, 2020.
Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the Clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.

THE FIRST DAY TO VOTE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE IS January 6, 2020.
THE LAST DAY TO VOTE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE IS 5:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, February 14, 2020.
No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election.
The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on February 18, 2020. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.
